Server upgrade
Posted: 28/01/2012 23:16:40 (CET) - 1 week and 4 days ago
This weekend I'm upgrading several components of the server, some of which require minor downtime. Be advised that the server may seem a little slow and unresponsive at times, and some services (like match parsing) will at times be temporarily disabled. I'm trying my best to keep all of this to a minimum, so bear with me.
If you encounter any bugs or other problems, please inform me by sending an e-mail to staff@multiwinia-ladder.net. Thanks in advance for the reports.

...and we're back!

It's been inactive for a while, but the huge influx of players from the Humble Bundle sales has convinced me to take a second look at things. In the end I've managed to fix the old issues and we're back on track. Hello world! 2.0
The official Ladder servers are back up, as are bert's servers (Dedwinia Test, Dedwinia Test Duel and Fish Bowl). The Replay servers are also active again, although some experiments showed that the Linux clients crash on their own replays (don't forget it's still an experimental feature folks).
Chances are there will be some minor downtime while I get everything oiled and geared up to run smoothly again, but for the most part it should function as expected. Questions can (as always) be sent to staff@multiwinia-ladder.net.

Dedicated servers disabled

The servers have been malfunctioning for quite some time, and today I decided to just take them down. The problem lies in the new networking setup the server is part of, and I haven't bothered to look into it to fix it. Until further notice, the ladder is essentially static.
The servers might see another activation in the future if I can be bothered to check it out, but to be honest I don't think the current player rate really justifies the amount of time I have to set aside for that. If you are really interested in seeing the servers back online and playing for the ladder, feel free to send me an e-mail at jelco@multiwinia-ladder.net. You can also reach me there for any other kind of questions that you may have.

After a short downtime, we're back up! As an added bonus, we'll have the replay server back up again in a short while, since the new server has enough capacity to handle it.

Short downtime
Posted: 06/11/2010 21:45:40 (CET) - 1 year and 3 months ago
Due to a server move, the Ladder will go offline for a short while tonight. This will be confined to one hour of downtime for the dedicated game servers, the website itself will only be offline for a very short while.
