Watching a replay is simple: connect to the replay server as if connecting to a normal game, and everything will go automatically. The replay server can be spotted easily in the server browser: it's named "Ladder replay" followed by the ID of the match it is showing. A few things to take into account:
- The replay won't start playing until the first viewer joins. If you join after the replay has started, the match will fast-forward visibly until you are synced with the other viewers.
- You have to join within two minutes of the replay server starting, or it will terminate.
- A maximum of 5 people can view a replay at the same time. It is sadly not possible to see how many people are in the server at any given moment.
- Chatting with other spectators of the replay isn't possible. All the messages in the chatbox are messages that were logged during the game you're watching.
- Matches played on older versions of Multiwinia incompatible with the current version may cause sync errors while replaying. Check the used version number on the Match Details page.
- Watching replays on the replay server is not possible with the demo of Multiwinia.
- A replay can only be removed from the queue by the person who requested it, and only if it isn't already playing.
- Replays are experimental with several consequences, such as: replays end abruptly when they are finished (resulting in a "Lost connection to server" message) and sometimes this happens before the replay is finished, sync errors and inaccuracies can pop up at any time, and some replays might not work at all.
